So I want opinions. I've had some friends tell me they didn't wash their babies new clothes before putting them on them and some have said they wouldn't put new clothes on their babies until they washed them. My question is, how important is it to wash the babies clothes before putting them on them when they're first born? TIA
Yeah I'll probably do the same . Just wash her newborn clothes and as she grows out of it wash the other sizes . Did you get newborn size ?
I just washed his 0-3 month clothes and said screw the rest. Lol @august.baby
I'm not washing her new clothes bc when ppl go shopping they normally touch the outside of the clothes not the inside . I was going to wash all pf her new clothes but it's a lot of work 😭
very important. the clothes are housed in horrible conditions. I don't wear my own new clothes before I wash them. think of the ppl who sneeze n don't cover or kids touching with boogers or worse on their hands they fall on the floor. I just can't imagine. I tried on a jacket once n got a huge spider in my shirt never saw it.
I washed a few things especially if it wasn't bought from the store but nothing else and both my kids are fine
I washed all mine because many germs could be on it. I didn't use dreft because my midwife said it contained way too much perfume and my baby might be born with skin sensitivities to fragrance I just use All free and clear or Tide fragrance free dye free
Also I only washed t shirts, socks, hats, blankets, towels and wash clothes. Going to wash the bedding everything else I think should be ok
I did know about the detergent. I actually just bought two bottles of detergent. @blessedmom
I didn't with my oldest two and did with this one. I didn't know about all the dyes and chemicals used. For some reason didn't eleven consider all the hands that touched the clothes.
Personally I don't wash everything .when I was a baby my mom washed everything and I have very sensitive skin and allergic to lotions with fragrances and I can only use certain laundry detergent and can't do fabric softener .didn't wash everything with my first two and they have not had any problems and there skin isn't sensitive to anything
Thank you ladies. @jortiz1290 @alye27 @alicia91 we weren't sure how important it would be. But we are pretty sure that this baby will have eczema as well because my SO whole family has it. So that would be an added factor.
It depends on the baby really. Some babies have delicate skin others don't. I washed some things with my kids and some things I just put on him brand new and he's fine. I honestly don't think its a huge deal but each person is different!😊
I'd say it's very important because they been in stores and people of been touching them in newborn baby skin is so sensitive they could break out in a rash or something
Okay good ! I bought like 8 onesies and my friend gave me all of her newborn clothes so I'm good !!
