Why Is My Eczema Worse During Pregnancy?
Hi preggies. .. I've been suffering from some kind of skin eczema since my first trimester my Dr prescribed cortisone .1 MG but it only seemed to make it worst, during my 2nd trimester it actually calmed down dare. I say kinda left on its own. now in my 3rd trimester it's back with a vengeance! my skin is constantly itchy, scaly, irritating, and flakey dry no matter how much coconut oil I use it gets better for a couple hours and then it comes back! now it's even on my upper arms shoulder area and seems like it might be starting around my eyes and on my lips :( anyone going through this too? I've never ever had eczema in my life before now.

Call me crazy but extra virgin olive oil is what helped me as a kid and I got completely rid of it. Since you have it on your face a little goes a long way and I suggest putting it on when you are at home. Also suggest washing it off with a warm wet rag/ towel so the oil doesn't irritate either. I am sorry you have to deal with such annoyance skin condition. I promise you I know how it feels and it sucks :/ Also there is a lot of stuff over the counter, but none of them worked for me, also I believe in all national during pregnancy. Awe :'( good luck.

It almost looks like impetigo right before the skin starts peeling. Don't scratch it, and make sure to wash your hands before and after you touch it. You could easily irritate it with the bacteria in your fingernails and turn it into something serious like impetigo or mrsa because your skin is so sensitive right now. I'd also ask for a second opinion on it.

I started getting that! Turns out it was the chemicals in my face wash! Use a non fragrant face bar and see if that helps! I bought the cetaphil one and the Aveeno oatmeal one and it cleared up in two days

When I was newly pregnant this time around and I started to develop that. I actually found out it was the coconut oil making it worse. Omg and I lived by using my coconut oil on EVERYTHING! It could be many different things. Hopefully it gets better.

I'm like actually concerned haha is it peeling at all or scabbing up? Or is it staying the same. The skin looks inflamed and slightly scaly where the redness is.

You poor thing!! I know this pain. Cetaphil is pretty harsh though. I would get hydrocortisone cream and an antibacterial foam soap. (I've looked and there is no antibacterial face wash) Wash it with the soap, then put cortisone cream on it. I never really figured out what it was, but it occasionally turned into impetigo which is so disgusting and would spread anywhere I touched on my face. I get it every few months though. The Drs couldn't figure it out either but it burned when I scratched and itched more when I would touch it and I would like fold my lip over and push below my lip out with my tongue to scratch it lol. I would also switch to Washing it, then drying it and not putting anything on it to let it breathe. Sorry you have to go through this!!
