Did anyone choose to formula feed over breast feeding? If so, what were your reasons in doing so?

@brimorales, ah that scares me 😭 but I'm going to try breast feeding first for sure!

@ngujen, I had to stop bc she made my nipples bleed so I pumped and gave it to her in a bottle for like 4 days and I just now breastfed her and it didn't hurt! Plus it's priceless, formula will add up

@ngujen, I'm breastfeeding and LET ME TELL YOU GIRL, 1) it hurts bc your boobs get so big and your baby's mouth will be so little that she will try to only suck on the nipple, and it will eventually bleed 2) your boobs get rock hard and full of milk at least every two hours so you have to be pumping 3) you leak on EVERYTHING! I'm sometimes cry bc it's so annoying but I look at this little girl and know that there is no healthier thing for her.

@katyaoct15, I'm not making the decision yet, I was asking for personal experiences to get an insight. I rather have a decision made before so I can know what to tell the hospital when I go into labor.

@ngujen Why do you even need to make this decision before giving birth? I think you should definitely give a try to breastfeeding, there's no doubt about its benefits to newborn health compared to any other existing artificially made substitute, BUT there's a billion legit situations when formula becoming a life savior for both the baby and the mom (lack of milk, lack of time, psychological issues and so on). So try it first and decide what's the best for you and your baby. Some woman actually enjoy breastfeeding, it's not always painful, problematic or extremely time consuming.

I did both I was more into formula cuz bf takes to much time and its all in you at least when u bottle feed you can pass baby off to daddy or a grandparent lol

@ak16, @viviann26 thanks girls! I've been leaning more towards formula feeding for some reason now. I was so strict on breast feeding at first. 😭

I formula feed both my girls, I just didn't feel like doing it honestly and the first baby my nipples became inverted and so huge I couldn't if I wanted. Both of my girls have had zero problems and are now 4 & 1. You do what you prefer you could do both if you wanted to try before you actually chose. 😊

I did. I tried so hard to breastfeed but it was very painful & I was also a first time mommy so I decided to formula feed due to my son being in the nicu for 2 months. I do plan on trying to breastfeed this baby when he/she is born. My sister also breastfed and her son is just fine and healthy

I did only bc my breast milk dried after only two weeks the first time and three months the second time. there's nothing wrong with it
