Hello ladies, so we've recently moved to NY (from much warmer place🌞) and expecting our very first baby girl by late October. I'm slowly but surely starting to prepare all the baby stuff and some clothing items 👑👶👗 but I feel completely lost when it comes to the late fall newborn/winter baby essentials for NYC⛄☔💧...clothes, strollers and so on. Any advices?
The car seat goes inside the stroller. It's a travel system. When you go outside you put them in the stroller and have a blanket over it. In MN no one would dare walk in the winter. You can get frost bite in less then 5 mins. I don't know exactly how cold it gets in NY.
Sorry, totally read your post wrong! I would go with the city mini. It's super lightweight and folds up really nicely to save space. It has the ability to attach a infant carrier and converted for older children. It's manufactured for the city :)
@whitney Thanks for showing me that example. I think my confusion about stroller exists because I'm used to see my friends in Europe using bassinet strollers for infants (more solid build, warmer) and it's not a big deal to take them out during the winter. But I guess in NYC this option is too bulky. The one you've shown me has an option to recline to a flat position as well, so I will consider it.
They say due to the vaccinations & the weather being cold so they recommend not going out i said the same thing im not sure i can stay in that long
@dollfacenanii Keeping the baby indoors for 3 months sounds like an odd recommendation to me. Does it have to do with vaccinations or the winter season? But thanks, I'll talk to my doctor about this. I still think that I won't be able to stay indoors for that long.
@sev1226 Yeah I do realize that most likely the real cold will come later. Nevertheless, want to be prepared. And again the main issue is which stroller to buy that will take us through the winter. I'm planning to spend long time outside walking.
@whitney Ok, thanks🙏 Doesn't sound as complicated as I thought it would be. My main concern is an appropriate stroller for a newborn at winter season as I'm planning to take her out for long walks. Any specific brand that you can recommend?
Im from NY & if you are giving birth here they want you to keep the baby indoors for the first 3 months & you will mostly need blankets sleepers a bunch of onsies socks the small gloves & hats thats what im getting & some bottoms for when the baby goes to appts & when the baby does go out .
I live in New Jersey... I'm about 40 min from NYC. 2 out of the last 3 years we have had halloween snow storms and last year we had one the day before thanksgiving. With that being said, I've lived her for about 15 years and the winters typically don't start until January. We get freak snow bad and then it will be like 70 again.. When I got married, it was November 26 and it was 75 degrees. You never know!
@livd15 So basically some sort of fleece long sleeve footed onesie+snow suit+winter sleeping bag+winter hat, shoes and mittens+blanket should be enough to take the baby out? And I'm also a bit confused about the stroller... something that will be good for a NB to 3 mo in the winter.
I'm from MN and we have similar fall and winters. I'd say you get all the same things you would usually get but when it comes to clothing your baby will have to wear long sleeve and pants, but also have other clothes because NY has all 4 seasons. You want to have a jacket for your baby in the winter but make sure to take it off when you but your baby in the car seat because it could pose a risk if you get in an accident. You can just put a warm blanket over the car seat. Otherwise a normal stroller will work, they make inserts for them to keep your baby warmer and you can take it out as the weather gets warmer. Anyways your mommy instincts will be your bet.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
@orelyuliia 👍 то, что надо. Я потихоньку начинаю разбираться в этих зимних делах. А комбез fleece (пушистый такой) или полноценный snowsuit? И размен наверное 0-3mo? В коляску только одеяла, bunting не нужен?
