your doctor will know what to prescribe you that is safe for breastfeeding. just make sure you let them know that you a breastfeeding just to make sure.

it will be perfectly okay for breastfeeding although i cannot tell you which kind they'll prescribe.

@maddieg4648, Yes, I would call your OB and tell them your symptoms. They should prescribe you with an antibiotic if it's mastitis.

Don't stop nursing, make sure you completely empty that breast every time. It's going to be sore until the antibiotics kick in. Just keep nursing and sometimes messaging it gently in a hot shower can help relieve pain.

it's important to keep nursing, they say it's okay for the baby because the bacteria dies easily. but if you dont feel safe you have to at least pump as much as before if not more to get everything out. Putting heat on them before nursing should make it easier and will speed up the healing process.
