Moms who cloth diaper...is a diaper sprayer necessary ? If you don't use one how do you clean poo off the diapers ?

@alicia3_21, clothes are different then what diapers are made out of. And some people get poop stains on EBF poop no matter what I personally never did. Could be the difference in people's milk or the way the baby digests it idk the science behind it i never got stains but a friend of mine did with EBF poop

@numommie, thanks for the info ☺️ we have our own washer and dryer but I'm weary on just tossing poo diapers right in the washer because ours isn't the best machine...definitely getting a sprayer

Our baby is exclusively breastfed and we use a sprayer. We live in an apartment and we only have access to community washer and dryer. The sprayer and spraypal work wonders for us.

@alicia3_21, our washer is crappy so I a always rinse realllll good plus dawn if it's really bad...do you wash in cold water? Hot usually causes worse stains so we prewash in cold then a second wash with warm or hot

well I've started using spray and wash and it gets rid of it. maybe my Babys got extra strong poop :) lol or I've got a crappy washer I dunno

@californiahaley, thanks ☺️ she's now getting solids (switching to cloth at almost 5 months now) I'm probably going to get a sprayer just in case then because I don't want stains @alicia3_21 hmm that's weird because Pai has had a good handful of explosions and we've never gotten stains but I always rinse immediately and sometimes use dawn if it looks like it's gunna stain

how come when I just get barley any poo on an outfit it stains?? he's just breastfed maybe I'm asking a dumb question lol @californiahaley

With exclusively breastfed poop you can just toss in te washer. With formula or solids you don't need a sprayer you can just wipe with a wipe but it's hard to get really clean. I don't have good enough pressure in house for my sprayer anymore so I was wiping and they didn't get clean enough and I started to get stains for the first time so I bought a 5 gallon bucket an a hose attachment ad spray them outside now. No more stains.

I don't use them, yet. but I would assume using a wipe/toilet paper to move the poop off the diaper to the toilet would work okay. Might be a little trickier with runny poops.
