Ok this maybe a little TMI about labor post along with I need some advice. So I went to the doctor today and we started discussing how I wanted to do the birth. With my first pregnancy I had my son vaginally (barely). I pushed for 1 hour 45 minutes before I began to tear so my Doctor did a full episiotomy and used forceps to get my son out and even then he almost didn't come out. I measured average my entire pregnancy and my son was bigger then expected. My first doctor told me later if he had known that the baby was going to be that big he would have pushes for a c-section instead. With all this being known to my now doctor (had to switch because of insurance issues) he has told me he will not let me go any farther then 39 weeks and that a c-section wouldn't be elected surgery because I sustained class 4 rectal tearing and the likelihood of me tearing again is almost certain with a child about the same size as my first... which she more then likely is. So my question is... To c-section or to not c-section.... It was extremely painful recovering last time and took almost a year for the scar to stop hurting... If I rip again it will more then likely take longer to heal and probably not as clean either

@hayleymarie Yes exactly. In a perfect world I would deliver vaginally with no problems but that may not be the case. After my episiotomy all I was given was ibuprofen and told that because I was breastfeeding I couldn't have anything stronger is that true with a c-section as well?

Honestly I was deathly afraid of my c section especially since I had NO choice they had to get my daughter out ASAP but it really wasn't THAT bad just remember to take your pain meds regularly and you'll be able to get up and move around just fine...the numbness in my lower tummy isn't painful it's just a weird feeling ill have to get used to but the important thing is delivering a healthy baby in the safest way possible for BOTH of you

@hayleymarie hmmm I know both are going to be painful and have some recovery time... I just hate to get cut if I don't have too... But I'll probably end up being cut either way

you're welcome and that's what I was thinking also. By this baby being your second. you need a healthy fast recovery cause you will have 2babiea to care for now. and a year is just way to long. When u can be healed in 6weeks or less.😄😄

@queenquee Thanks ma am! I talked to my mom too (She gave birth seven times) she was in the delivery room with me and she is kinda learning towards the c-section too because with a toddler and a newborn I need the fastest recovery time

I had an emergency c section and with the epidural as an anesthetic for my lower tummy all I could feel was a tugging vacuum sensation...I was up and walking the next morning (c section was at 9:43pm) around 11:30...I was in a good bit of pain but as long as I kept the pain meds in me for the first week and a half I was good after a week and a half I didn't need the pain meds and could manage without..I'm 4 months PP and had a weird numb sensation in my lower belly that will likely never go away (my mom had a c section with me and she still has the numb feeling)

I've never had a csection, but I have heard they are painful.. But it took you a year to heal vaginally then maybe a csection would be the best choice for u and your baby.. cause I read where you said it would probably take longer to heal this time. a year is toooooo long.. when on average it only take 6 weeks for a woman to heal after csection or vaginal birth.. But its Whatever you feel comfortable with.. Good Luck Love
