so i have postpartum depression and may have to stop nursing....baby girl is six months now....the thought of needing to wean is making me sad.....is there any other way...my baby isn't ready

the only reason I would see the need to ween is if you were put on meds that could pass through your breast milk and not be good for baby. breastfeeding is actually proven to help with PPD

I have never heard of a such a thing. In fact, nursing releases chemicals in your brain that fight depression. Please do more research and talk to your doctor before weaning your baby. There are tons of other options that will allow you to continue to nurse your little one and tackle the depression.
