Okay. The moment you've all been waiting for. My labor story!!!

Okay so on Tuesday, June 9, I was supposed to get the cervidil inserted at 8:00pm to ripen my cervix so I could be induced on Wednesday, June 10, morning. I ended up having to wait until 10:00pm to get the cervidil placed because there weren't any open rooms.

Once at the hospital they placed the cervidil, put me on the monitors, kept a close eye on my blood pressure, and insisted I go to sleep. By around 3:00-4:00 on June 10, they checked me. I went from being 4cms to 6cms in only 45 minutes. The cervidil got me so ripe that I didn't need the pitocin at all. I got an epidural because I was in so much pain contracting at 6cm. By then I was on cloud nine. I was able to sleep for a few hours, and by about 8:00am my doctor came to check me. He said I was fully dilated and thinned and could start pushing whenever. I unfortunately had to get a first degree episiotomy because My doctor was afraid I couldn't fit Jasper's head. Once I got the cut, I pushed and at 9:55am Jasper Henry Lee Shelby was born weighing 7lbs 11oz and weighing 20inches long.
