Any nurses here? I'm thinking about doing nursing school. I know it's gonna be tough though. what advice do you have?

I do like being an RN :) it has its days like any job, but I'm definitely glad I went through the schooling and got it done :)

@junebaby, I had the hardest teacher ever. but I liked him because he went so into depth with things. this go around I'll be more focused!

@macieka, don't feel bad about not getting through it the first time. I took A&P 1 twice to get a better grade. It was so much easier the second time once I knew how to study properly.

For example when you study human bones, a hole in the body is called a foramen. In the base of your skull you have the largest hole in the body where the spinal cord passes through. That's called the Magnum Foramen. You'll laugh but think about it. Magnum as in large and foramen such as big hole for a man. lol

what worked for me is going to tutoring if they offered it. focusing on key points in lecture. I took any practice tests they offered. I also come up with nerdy sayings to remember things by.

Biology wasn't bad for me. I tutored it for two years. Just take good notes and study hard.

@mrsalston, I attempted to take my first anatomy and physiology class once and it kicked my butt!! lol

@lexpalma, I'm thinking abut staring my biology's in the spring. I just need to take 3 biology classes before I can apply to the program and those are tough I heard.

I'm an RN. I agree with @junebaby school is tough and time consuming but it's do-able! I didn't have kids when I went through it, but I know a lot of ladies that did!

I'm a nurse. School is tough and very time consuming but I made it with four kids. You need a good support system at home though. I couldn't have done it without my family.
