okay so I did something stupid. at east I think it was stupid. anyway I tried putting the actual stud in my cartilage that they pierced me with. and it didn't fit. I tried to force it through But that was my mistake. anyway I didn't get it through and so I put the regular one that I've had in. and today I woke up and my ear was red and swollen and throbbing... I'm what to do. I put rubbing alcohol on it. and I put the ear care stuff on it. and it is still hurting.. I can't even sleep on it again. I've had it for a year now.

The gauge of the original piercing versus the piece you had in were more than likely different by at least one or two mm. Most piercers use between a 20 or 18 g piece of jewelry for piercings. It may help to put ice on the swollen area for a little bit. Also take something for inflammation (I'm not sure if Tylenol is acceptable for pregnant women). Other than that, let it be for a few days. Don't touch it or mess with it. The cartilage in the ear specifically can get irritated extremely fast. I've got my industrial pierced and sometimes if I take out my jewelry to clean it the area will get swollen and red. I did have my rook pierced a year ago but my ear rejected the piercing (the rook is the most temperamental cartilage piercing available). Hope it gets to feeling better :/

thank you. I just don't want it to mess with my pregnancy ... and I don't want to to take it out if it gets infected but I'll do that over hurting my baby. I can just get it repierced later on. I guess when I changed the piercing I didn't think about what the size was... thank you @jaspersmama61315

It's not gonna hurt your baby girl! it just takes longer for the piercing to heal hints why it's so sore now. if it gets to uncomfortable take it out but just make sure you clean it and it should be fine.

No problem lol I just tried to put some thing in my ear and it irritated the fuck out of my cartalige so I decided I can't do it rn and took it out haha but if you can handle it do it!

Rubbing alcohol is bad for piercings. Try warm salt water :)

salt water isn't bad for piercings at all. they give it to you in most professional piercing shops to put and clean new piercings with.

Warm water helps open the piercing so when you add the salt water it's open enough to disinfect. Walgreens and other pharmacies sell sterile saline sprays to flush wounds.

Well I called the doctor cause I woke up to it having puss and blood. so the doctor said I need to take it out.

its probably infected..I had mine pierced for about 2yrs...and it did that ...it hurt so bad...so I took it out re pierced it a few months later...it was fine although Im allergic to certain earings and so I had to take it back out goodluck
