What does Amniotic fluid smell like?
Over the past couple of days I've been having a steady discharge and what I think is urine is abnormally clear for me. Every time I go to the bathroom my pantie liner smells like maple syrup. (Sorry for the TMI) when I wipe it smells like maple syrup too. What could it be??

@carol0201, @summerbaby I don't have any contractions or anything though. Don't contractions accompany leaking water or water breaking? My son is super active at the moment too...

Not always. You can lose fluid without contracting. My dr recently had me come in because I had a lot of extra fluid coming out, but no contractions. She was still nervous my water broke. But it turned out he was jumping on my bladder . It just didn't end up smelling like ammonia because I had been well hydrated

I'm a nurse. This is from my maternity nursing book. Call your doc just to be safe. It's possible that it is amniotic fluid
