when push comes to shove whose gets the final say in naming the baby? my mother in law is trying to guilt us into naming…

ty. I'm trying to relax it's just hard. I seriously can't wait to get out of her place. omfg. I know I will feel alot more at ease when I'm in my own place again! & boo for monster in laws 👿

@bsummers, and if she convinces him then you let him know, that's not what you want...at the end of the day, you are the one that fills out the paper work...so in all reality, YOU get the last say over the baby name...try not to stress yourself momma, I think most of us have a monster in law lol

@babybump3, she has a certain way of manipulating him it's disgusting EVERYONE including his siblings see it but he doesn't! we are currently stuck living with her (temporarily... Thank God) so I haven't brought it up and when she brings it up I say I'm not ready to talk about names and she says stuff like I promised her 5 years ago... I barely even knew her then I've only been with fiance for 6 years but anyway I'm just afraid she is gonna somehow convince him he wants the baby to have her name. Ugh. 😢😥 @shaysaleen

part of the problem is I don't even Really like my mother in law if I haven't named a child after my own mother I definitely don't want one named after her at all! she's making my pregnancy miserable & it barely started! @babybump3 @shaysaleen @hayleymarie

@hayleymarie, pick what YOU two want . sadly mother in law will just have to deal with it . and like @babybump3 ssid maybe include her or maybe use her middle name for the baby if it better than her 1st :)

Like Dana said my hospital had me fill out the birth certificate paperwork not her dad...right after I had my daughter via c section I started crying saying plz make sure he spells Paisley correctly cause I knew he would spell it wrong and they were like no honey you'll fill that paperwork our later so in the end the name is your choice cause what you write on that paper is going to be their name

@bsummers, but her question was about the mother in law...NOT the father, she and.her husband want to name the baby...but.his mom is trying.to get them to name.her after her...that's why I said its basically up to her and her hubby...and if they want to include the mother in law then think about giving the baby her.name as a middle name....

I believe the hospital asks the mother to fill out the birth certificate NOT the father.

personally I say name the baby what you and.hubby want....what ever name you choose, the baby had to live with for the rest of her life....so choose what you and hubby think is best...and maybe if you want to incorporate your mother in law, make her name the middle name
