I plan to homeschool my son when he grows up. I was homeschooled from 3rd grade to freshman year of high school and it was the best decision my parents ever made. I can't wait to teach my son!

I'm home schooling as well in addition to putting mine into county programs like sports and swim for additional socialization.

If my son shows interest in sports I'll do what I can to provide for him. I kinda hope he's like me and is on the more creative side of life. Haha. Who knows though :) I'm just so excited to watch him learn and grow intellectually. :)

I love the idea of homeschooling, but I make the most money between my husband and I and my husband doesn't want our child to be 'socially weird', I tried to explain that we can homeschool and put the child in sports to get the social skills but he's against it.. idk how to talk him into it

I can honestly say not every homeschooled child is "socially weird". I am a product of being homeschooled and I have lots of friends and I'm capable of holding an intellectual conversation. That's such a degrading stereotype. My family was poor when I was homeschooled so we couldn't afford outside activities. I was lucky enough to have a few friends in the neighborhood that were also homeschooled and we always played. It was the best decision my parents ever made. And at about grade 4 I started doing my work on my own. My dad worked full time and my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer so they weren't always available to lecture. But I learned just as much as public school or private school kids did if not more. I studied college geographical science, anatomy, and was reading at a twelfth grade level when I was in 6th grade. Best decision ever.

I'm still definitely trying to sway him to my way of thinking, I guess we will see!

It's such a good experience. Plus, it allowed me to learn at my own pace and learn MORE than the set curriculum that the kids in public and private school were learning. It give a lot of wiggle room for field trips and experiments as well. :)
