How do you feel about having a baby shower after the baby is here?? My boyfriends mom wants to have…

its kinda pointless to do a baby shower after the baby is born. I've heard of doing welcoming parties but youre definitely not going to like having all of these people passing around your baby and holding your baby. that's going to expose her to so many germs!

I wouldn't be ok with my newborn being passed around especially with all the germs everywhere, and you trying to breastfeed and bond with the newborn!

Yeah, I told my boyfriend I'm not bringing her & she's going to stay home with her grandma and grandpa.. He wasn't very happy with me but it's my decision. All we would probably need would be like ride on toys that change into the push ones, a high chair & a bigger car seat. But all of those things would be for when she's older. /: @amber.s95

Good point @tracynangel I'll just tell her I don't want one! When I first asked her if she wanted to throw one she told me she'll think about it then she turned around and said she'd do one after the baby is here.

That's annoying! My mom and MIL aren't from the American culture to throw baby showers, so luckily my co workers will throw one then I get a second one from my girlfriends!

I went to a shower after the baby was born and she wasn't passed around. They had her set up in a decorated bouncy seat where she slept most of the day and people just took pictures of her. Only her mom and closest family members held her. Where I'm from, people understand newborns and germs. But I know that won't work everywhere.

I don't think my boyfriends mom cares. She does what she wants and thinks that her way is the best way.@queeneden I've had one for all of my friends, my boyfriends friends, and most of my family. I have one tomorrow for the rest of my family. @tracynangel

I did a baby shower after my baby was born. nothing wrong with that. yes people passed around my baby but everyone had smiles on their faces and enjoyed themselves. I had too much going on to do one before I had my baby.
