I know you can do skin to skin before they clean baby. not sure if you can clean baby tho.

I did skin to skin as soon as she came out. Then after a little they took her to whip her up a bit, suction her mouth, and all other necesarry procedures like weigh her etc. If you want to give the baby its first "bath" to clean them they should let you but they will be standing there to help incase you need it. The nurses don't have to take your kid.

My midwife said they can clean the baby while it's on your body. The first bath you are allowed to do. The baby can be with you at all times!

My hospital as soon as baby comes out they put them on your chest and if nothing is wrong they leave them on you for an hour then will weigh and all that stuff

They laid my baby right on my chest and left her there while I delivered the placenta, they cut her cord, and they sewed up my perineal tear. At least for 20 mins because I asked. Just ask them. Technically, they work for you. It's your child, and your choice.

you can do skin to skin right away as long as baby is OK. you can tell them u want to but also the baby's temp is very important the first 24hrs so they have to swaddle baby and put a hat on them till there body can regulate temp like ours. they would wipe baby while on me then let him stay with me for about 10 mins wrap them up and give them first feeding then ask me if I want them to do the first bath. its an option for bath u don't have to have ur baby bathe

mine keeps baby in my room at all times near me.. only unless something is wrong but the whole other fine baby is with me and daddy
