Ohhh. That makes sense that the inside would get damp from him peeing through the micro fibre insert. So basically the diaper I bought is really only good for one time use? Cuz in that case I'm only saving myself one diaper a day hahah which wouldn't be worth doing unless I had 12-20 of them.... @californiahaley
And if it's a pocket then even of you put the insert (as long as it isn't micro fiber) against babies bum you'd still need to change the whole thing after peed on cause the pee will get on the inside layer and it's just not good to reuse. If you got a cover then you can reuse just wipe down with a wipe and put a new insert or prefold on.
@regelbaby, haha thanks! Disposable liners go on top/against babies bum for poop. I don't use them but my sister does and says they're nice. Disposable inserts I think gdiapers are the only company that makes those and I feel like they kinda are pointless cause te whole point is to save money and they end up costing more or just as much as using sposies full time.
Right. I saw disposable liners or inserts, they're the same thing right? I can't wait to try it they are just friggen adorable.... Too bad I wasn't crafty though like @californiahaley and I could sew my own diapers!!! Lol jealous mom over here Haley.
you can use that cover with any insert or prefold though
you sure can but if they are microfiber you don't want that directly against his skin. you can either wrap the insert in a flour sack towel or cut up a receiving blanket and lay on top. I bought a few fleece liners off etsy so I'll be doing that with my pockets.
Thanks @junebaby that video was extremely helpful! Question tho.. Bc I got the pocket style without realizing it... The cover is waterproof so could I not just put the insert on top rather than inside and then just switch out the insert after pees and poos providing terry doesn't poop on the cover? :)
yep, it's a pocket diaper so you will, however you can probably get some prefolds and lay them inside and you might get a few uses as long as the baby doesn't wet the cover. if that cover is waterproof then you can just change out the inserts.
So this one that I bought will have to be washed every time? Cuz I'm not knot that :(
I like the best bottoms, imagine, nickis and thirsties covers and you can use those with cheap flour sack towels from Wal-Mart or prefolds. diaper junction has very affordable prefolds and flats. I like the bamboo ones best.
fluff love and CD science is helpful on facebook
they have all different types. the pockets or all in one are pretty much use and wash. that's why I like the waterproof covers and you can use those with inserts or prefolds/flats. the cover can be reused several times. unless it gets covered in poop. YouTube has lots of useful videos and Facebook has a lot of support groups.
Hahah no prob @jortiz1290 doesn't bother me at all. Maybe I'll even learn a thing or two about disposables. @junebaby the bum genius came with two inserts one small one large? The diaper looks like the insert goes inside the diaper .... But then you'd have to wash the entire diaper and insert every time they pee/poo that makes no sense.... Teach me everything u know lol!!
@jortiz1290, I just found great deals. I bought some second hand off eBay or facebook bst sites. I did buy some new off dream diapers, nickis diapers and dearest diapers has layaway. I really like lalabye brand because they come with two bamboo inserts and I like nickis diapers so far. I have a few best bottoms and a couple bumgenius, grovias and 1 applecheeks. Those cost much more though. The rest of my stash are cheapies, prefolds and some fitteds.
Btw sorry for blowing up your picture @regelbaby I wish this app would let you private message!
That's amazing! Send any tips my way. I couponed all of my bum genius diapers. I only have 24 so far and spent $315. Thankfully I get inserts for free. Did you coupon or how did you get such great deals?! @junebaby
I have over 65 diapers plus flats and prefolds and spent under $500
I found such great deals too on my stash @jortiz1290
Yeah pretty much. You'll need a few more or get covers instead.
