Okay so my glucose test is coming up and I'm really nervous!! is it that bad?? Do you really get nauseous?? Need advice…

I meant eat like an hour before you drink the test not during it. My doctor said it is not a fasting procedure unless you fail il the first one. I just avoided sugar from midnight on

I had eggs and a piece of toast . The only time you can't eat is for the second one if you don't pass. Ask your doctor if you can eat because he will let you. Also the test itself I was perfectly fine. People always tell you the worst.

You're welcome (: I didn't listen to the doctor and I ate at midnight and I failed the one hour by three points so I had to do the three hour test and it's the same way only you drink 100g of sugar (you only drink 50 with the one hour) right after you get your blood drawn the first time and then you get your blood drawn 3 more times once every hour. You're not allowed to even take a sip of water until after the last blood drawl . Like I said the 3 hour is miserable lol

They have fruit punch or orange where I live . Fruit punch was honestly better to me. Advice would be 1 drink it cold and quick 2 do not eat or drink after the time the doctor says not to (sips of water here and there are literally all you can do) 3 pack some bland foods like crackers or a sandwich and cold water to take with you to the doctor because as soon as they drawl your blood your able to eat and drink again but you'll still be a bit nauseous from just drinking pretty much pure sugar without anything else in your system 4 make sure to wear comfy clothes because if you're like me you'll regret wearing regular clothes (I get very uncomfortable from head to toe when i get nauseous )

Yea I was told drinking it cold is easier, definitely gonna ask for a cold one. Did Anyone get a flavor choice??

Ohh yes the taste some1 said it well it tastes like flat orange pop super sweet! Make sure to ask for a cool one. When I did it they run out of cool ones and didn't cool in time so I had it freaking warm Eeeeeewwwwwww

I'm very easily disgusted and nauseous.

It really depends how u going to react depending on your reflux & sensitivity. Like if you're picky eater for example kthen u may feel nauseous & throw it up. If you're not too sensitive to foods and drinks then it will taste gross but u'll hold it in. That's best way I can explain. I am not sensitive and easily disgusted so I didn't throw it up, BUT it made me soo light headed....all that sugar 😖😣😣 mine was only 1 hr test. So I had 50ml of the glucose drink and after 1 hr took blood sample. U have to wait there, maybe the lab has a nap area u can lay down. Good luck! Oh and I tested positive for gestational diabetes and hate it! Cause I never had a sweet tooth prior to my pregnancy but all I craved was sweets! Sooo it sux! Pray u don't test positive I hate having GD 😣😣

The orange isn't bad ( I don't think ) my doctor told me to eat light before.

I think the drink is nasty but it has bi taste (the clear one). I hate waiting the hour between drinking it and them taking my blood. It makes me sleepy (I always eat after). In the end it's nothing to worry about just part of being pregnant. You will do fine
