do I need to put oil or lotion on my Babys head to prevent cradle cap? my mil says I do and I just feel like putting extra junk on him when not needed is silly. opinions please

I put baby oil on my sons head and brushed it out with his brush 2xs a week and it was gone about a month later but he had it pretty bad

I did same as @wyattsmommy91 when my son was a baby. Baby Oil and brush it out. But if he doesnt I dont think u need to pit anything
