@hayleymarie okay thank you so much!! definitely getting this next time I am out! which will be Monday she has another doctors apt.
You can get fenugreek from Walmart (our local one only carries a few bottles at a time so I buy like 2 every time I'm there since it's only like $5/bottle) also if they didn't tell you...continue taking your prenatals or switch to postnatal vitamins while BF you can get d vi sol at Walmart as well I think they're both in the Vitamin isle if not check infant medicines ...if you don't already have gripe water keep it on hand (I didn't and the first time my daughter had a bad tummy ache I was left alone with a screaming newborn, no car, and no way to soothe her)
@hayleymarie where can I but the d vi sol? No i really appreciate it! I need all the help I can get! Our pediatric is from the Navy base and well she sucks! She made me so upset yesterday about my pumping. Told me that she might have me supplement with formula and I'm not going to supply enough! I will start drinking the mothers milk today I have some, where do you purchase the fenugreek?
Right around the time that I put her to bed is when I go ahead and freeze my life extra milk from that day and just leave enough out for her next feeding (since I get enough each time I pump for 1-2 feedings) that way the milk doesn't have a chance to go bad in my fridge. Not to sound weird but every time I feed her I sniff the milk just to be sure it's safe (like if you go out for longer than 4 hours i suggest putting the milk in a lunchbag with an Icepack or just use formula- I had milk spoil from being out of the fridge for too long after being refrigerated- it was very sad to throw out 😔) also if I you're trying to have a strong oversupply I suggest drinking 1 cup of mothers milk tea in the morning and one before bed plus taking 3 fenugreek 3 times daily has also helped me ...ooh and since breast milk doesn't provide much vitamin D which helps fight off jaundice i give my daughter d vi sol (a liquid vitamin D for infants) to try and avoid the development of jaundice (sorry I wrote a book just trying to tell you the things no one told me😂)
@hayleymarie okay awesome your such a great help! okay now on to storing as you know I have a smaller supply since I am busy starting. I read put everything from today into one storage. I did that then been taking 1 oz from it when needed and heating just the oz in her bottle. Also any tips for at night?
you're welcome ☺️ I pump every 4 hours now that my supply is established but I used to pump every 2 hours until I was 6w PP
@hayleymarie Thank you so much! I week be warming one for the first time shortly, then pumping.
Also warm compresses before/during pumping also helps (microwaving a receiving blanket for about 45 seconds works very well for this)
I do but I never mix the old milk with the new milk so normally I'll warm up the old stuff with warm running water and make a fresh one at the same time if I know that the old stuff won't be enough to fill her...also remember to swirl the milk to mix it up when it separates...never shake it up
@hayleymarie okay thank you! I'm going to do 30 this time. They leak after 15 mins and hurt still. My daughter's only drinking 1oz but my supply is up to 2oz now. Do you save the leftovers if they don't finish a feeding or no?
@hayleymarie, and how long did you pump for minute was in the beginning they told me 15 mins I don't feel relief in my breast.
You're welcome ☺️
