How long did it take you mommies to build an excess milk supply?

@krb0911 thanks girl ☺️ I've been getting at least 2 oz every time I pump and I've been pumping every 2 hours or so luckily if she's not hungry or wet she'll sit in her boppy and watch me pump. I've been eating tons of oatmeal, spinach salads, carrots, and drinking mothers milk and tons of water & it seems to help with production

@hayleymarie, if your with her all the time is harder to build a supply because your pumping to feed. I am the same way I just started pumping and she is 6 weeks. I only get 4 oz a day for 2 pumping sessions. I am trying to produce more milk drinking mothers milk tea. Your doing great just be patient!

@krb0911 thanks ☺️ I wish my little girl would be like that but unfortunately it's come down to having to pump to feed so I've been pumping a ton and for at least 30 minutes each time guess it just takes a little while to get a supply built up

@hayleymarie, I read if you pump for an extra 5 minutes once no milk is coming out it will tell you body she is needs more. My baby is on my boob all the time so maybe just try pumping every chance you get

well the way I built up is I would Jist nurse her on one side each time she was hungry until the other side was really full and id be able to get a bottle out of it. then id switch sides. I don't know how that would work with pumping though

@mom2be96, luckily I stay at home with her full time so I can pump whenever I want and I pump every time she should be feeding I pump and I've got like 4 bottles in the fridge but there's not enough to freeze yet

well I'm sorry to hear that. maybe try to build up your supply that way you can pump more.

@mom2be96, I did and it didn't work 😕 I've seen 3 different LCs and have basically been told if she can't latch then I have to pump and bottle feed if I want her to have breast milk

have you tried using a nipple shield?

@mom2be96, like enough to freeze; I have to pump and bottle feed because we've had some latching problems due to me having flat nipples and her being tongue tied and it seems like I can't pump fast enough to get enough to freeze plus feed her

what do you mean by excess? my daughter is a month and I have 8 bottles stored but I feed her from a bottle sometimes and I don't pump everyday and when I do it's only one bottle. I'm trying to get in a better habit of pumping
