I just realized my son is almost 5 weeks old & I never told my birth story!
So I had my c section scheduled for January 2nd at 5:30 pm, I was so nervous I didn't get any sleep the night before (I blew up preggie with status up dates every hour lol) My doctor told me to show up 2 hours early so they could set up a room, fill out paper work & run some tests before I went into surgery.
I'm having a constant panic attack it feels like because I am so nervous, time even felt like it was going by super slow! Well 5:30 came & passed & my doctor was nowhere to be found, the nurses were even freaking out, running the halls & asking every doctor if they'd seen him. 2 hours pass & my boyfriend & I were losing our patients so we requested another doctor to do my surgery, just as we did my doctor came into the room as if he wasn't running 2 hours late, I was so upset but it didn't sink in entirely until they wheeled me off to the operating room. I'll never forget it, It was ice cold, small & terrifying. They have me get on the table & give me my spinal tap, as soon as they're done doing that they lay me down & strap my arms down. As soon as that happened I had the worst panic attack I've ever had. Thank god for my nurse because she grabbed my face, looked me in the eyes & told me to breathe, told me I was about to have my son & everything will go great (they had to give me oxygen because I was having trouble breathing) after that I asked for my boyfriend, she quickly ran outta the room & grabbed him. After he came in the room the surgery began.
My anesthesiologist was great, the whole surgery he told me how it was going & how much longer until I was gonna meet my son. At 8:40 pm my son was born, I heard his first cries & I burst into tears of joy. I'll never forget that moment then they started cleaning him off & raised him up to show me, he was beautiful. My boyfriend tried holding on to my hand & looking at our son, I pushed him away & told him to take pictures of him. Not even 2 minutes later my son & my boyfriend were out the door & headed to the nursery.
Unfortunately after my surgery they gave me some medication for pain that I react badly too (which I told them before surgery) so I was throwing up the rest of that night/morning & didn't get to hold my son for the first 6 hours he was alive, I also didn't get to breast feed which caused him later to reject breast feeding completely & is now formula fed.
Sorry it was so long but I just realized I didn't share with you mamas the most important & life changing day of my entire life.
I love you, Oliver. You'll forever have mamas heart in your hands 💕
