So, a few months ago, I was offered a down syndrome test for Skye... Everybody wanted me to get it done.. I decided against it. No one liked my decision.
The decision was agreed upon, through both my husband and I. We asked nothing of anyone else, because we didn't care how they felt about it.
We made the decision we did, because of what a baby is. A baby is a beautiful, amazing, loveable, harmless, helpless living being, no matter size, length, weight, chemical balance, disabilities, or mental illnesses.
I don't care if she has down syndrome. She's going to be beautiful. She's going to be cute, she's going to be everything Every other baby in the world is. A baby. No matter what. And that's perfect for me, as long as she's healthy, and mine. <3

that's awesome :) I didn't get my first daughter screened but my doc was telling me that the screening these days screen for more than just downs, so if, God forbid, this baby needs surgery on it's heart or spine right after birth, I'll know and it will be set up and ready. I'd never get rid of her if something were wrong but sometimes it's good to know so you can plan :) glad you are happy with your decision and I'm glad you didn't let anyone pressure you!

I decided against the test too for the same reasons. We love this baby regardless

I was never offered the test because there's never been a child with Down syndrome on either side of our families. My family is huge but our family records go back over 100 years.
