Well today I got the call saying I failed my glucose test. It was so high they aren't even having me come in for the 3hour test. My Dr. is having me go to a gestational diabetic specialist, and I have to take some classes. My nurse said I for sure have it.... I'm trying not to stress, but it's gonna be hard! I'll have to change my way of eating and all that. :( But I'm trying to stay positive, I just want Isaac to be healthy!! <3
see I see faint dots as well and get blurred vision when I didn't eat or sometimes when I drink something sugary. I'm exhausted all the time too like if I ran around all day too. my glucose test is the 9th. so well see then but I been having these systoms for a while now and they still haven't found anything.
I noticed I'm urinating WAY too much. I also see spots when I'm really hungry, and I feel very fatigued. I didn't notice these symptoms that much until recently. I wouldn't have known I had it until they did my glucose test! My blood sugar was 240, it was pretty high. @mandi0101111
@rachel.potts, being overweight, over the age of 30, having a family history of diabetes or big babies are all risks to getting it.
I'm 18, not overweight, but both parents are type 2 diabetic and my first daughter was 9 lbs 4 oz and I was diabetic with her.
side note* I found I was diabetic with my daughter at 37 weeks and had my daughter at 39 weeks, so yeah you got time haha :)
I have gestational diabetes too.
I had them with my first daughter and I've had them since I was 16 weeks pregnant with this baby.
they're not that bad, once you get in the rhythm of eating low carb food it'll be like nothing, it doesn't mean you can't eat ice cream and cake or pickles lol. like this morning, my oatmeal made my blood sugar too high but I had taco bell for lunch and my glucose level was under 100!
you'll learn what to stay away from, the finger pricking does get annoying especially 4x a day but you'll be okay. just be careful you don't end up with too big of a baby like I did with my first that resulted in csection and she had low blood sugars and they had to do a heel stick every hour-2 at the hospital and it was sooooo sad. :(
Thank you so much, I appreciate that! I need all the positivity I can get! :) @rachel.potts
this is off topic. I wanted to name my son isaac but my husband hates that name :( I love the name isaac.
@shaykayla, I'm doing my test in a couple weeks. id love to know some stuff you learn. I'm sorry your going through that though. You'll do awesome at getting it lowered :)
I will be 30 weeks Wednesday and am just finding out I have it. So hopefully I have enough time to lower my blood sugar. :)
I'm not really sure.. I'm gonna learn more about it at the class, I can let you know then! My nurse did say that it's not what I be been eating, its just how my body is reacting to the pregnancy. I eat the same.things my other pregnant friends eat, and they've all passed. So I'm not really sure if it's preventable or not. @rachel.potts
that's good to know!! I'm really trying not to stress. Of course I'm going to some, I'm a mama now so I'll worry a little. ;) @jadasmommy93
@shaykayla, is there a certain reason why you get it? I'm just kinda curious if there is ways to prevent getting it or not.
@shaykayla, no problem my friend had it really bad and her baby was super healthy!
Well hopefully you pass girl! None of my symptoms showed up until recently, which surprised me. Having to change my diet has already been a little rough. :/ I don't have to cut out everything, but I can't eat like I was lol. @mandi0101111
