Dear ladies:
My name is Kate and I head the customer experience at Preggie. Let me follow up on our recent post on the security/privacy protocol of this app.

First of all, we would like to sincerely thank @mrssabby , @dawn , @18andpregnant , @missj_stephens , @ahylton on their comments to the previous post. It goes to show that you guys care about what happens here and do appreciate the good thing that we have going. It is heartwarming for us to see the desire for this community to thrive in the comments to that post and throughout the threads. We will not betray that and will not rest until everyone feels at home and secure here.

What we cannot stress enough though is this - it is the job of everyone in the family to make sure that the home stays warm and safe. This is obvious and should be easy if you care. Much easier than holding together the people that you care about in your daily life and have spent a lot of time with. Giving up on them may seem easy at times, when they are stubborn, selfish, ungrateful or plain weird, while we are not our most calm or patient for various reasons. Yet the best of us would avoid giving up at all costs...

Preggie will be at least 10 times more rewarding than it has been historically and will feel the way it should - like FAMILY, if everyone is gentler, less rash and realizes that if a common problem arose, it can be resolved quickly and easily. Then all disruptors of the friendship that we nurture here - weirdos, drama queens, angry hearts or jealous other communities - will go elsewhere. It is that easy! A small daily effort, like washing dishes to keep it clean.

Yeah too many fake pages and you can tell by the subscribers they have. This one page named something like preggie82 was fake and admitted being a guy on someone's page and the girl he commented instantly told us all on this app to block him and his subscribers. He's still making pages with his fake subbies and making weird posts. Can you do what instagram did and wipe out all the phoney pages somehow

I am very happy that you guys are actually trying to make this app better and not just ignore try whole situation. to me this app has really helped me through things and when I have questions the ladies on here are always so quick to answer. I have certainly made friends on here but what worries us all are these fake profiles and of course the rude comments from some mothers. it's ashame there isn't a way we are able to block them completely so they can't see our page at all and can't make comments still.

I love preggie and the fact that you guys are monitoring the app the way you do it truly feels alot safer then most of the other apps out there.

OK. So the fake accounts are a priority and we are cleaning this up this week and the next. Please understand that we will not be simply deleting all accounts with limited activity and followers. Some of them are new mommies, some are readers who feel that they do not yet have enough to contribute, some have been humbled by the harsh exchanges and judgment that takes place here from time to time. Yet they do need the benefit of other people's experience /see value in Preggie and we are not going to deny them that. THE PROCEDURE: all accounts that are under suspicion of being "fake" (we have an extensive list now) will be investigated. People who have not posted much or do not have followers will be engaged by the moderators to provide much more extensive information about themselves to us and will be vetted by us within the next week. True fake accounts will be deleted immediately after that and we will publish the list here (tentatively - end of next week).

Blacklist: the day after tomorrow, NO ONE of the blacklisted will be able to see either the profiles or any posts of those who blacklisted them. We are implementing this change even before the next version of the app

Great news!! I'm so glad to hear this.. Thank you for taking the steps to make this app a better, more comfortable place for all of us Mommys. We don't want to put our children in jeopardy just by sharing a picture of them with all of our preggie friends, nor do we want people taking their picture and creating a fake and saying it's theirs! I will feel a lot more comfortable to post when the security settings are in place! We all love this app and I've made a few amazing forever friends off of here! Thank you again @preggie_usa
