I can't believe I'm posting this but I need advice. I know this is a touchy subject and I don't want a debate or an argument about it. What is everyone thoughts on circumcision? my boyfriend and I have been arguing about this since we found out the gender. we can't seem to agree on anything. He isn't circumcised so he is totally against it he feels how our son comes out is how he is and we should leave it alone and I on the other hand think it's better to be safe than sorry. I know it's not a medical reason for it and more of a hygiene thing and less chance of infections. some kids don't have issues and some.do and end up having to be circumcised later. and I know no one can make this choice for me I just want your thoughts on the subject!
I can give you my number if you want to talk about it more. I'd be more than happy to link you to sites about the surgery. I just want you to have the information. I have a site that talks about the death rate, but I don't know if I should post it here.
reading that made me not want to...Omg I'm so confused @lizzilarson
You're the one who has to choose, I just want to make sure you have all the information.

There's tons more sites, you just have to look. Also look up videos of circumcision on YouTube. Babies typically feel everything, the numbing medications they user can only work so much and the babies have a tendency to go into shock.
exactly @january10th and @lizzilarson i have done research never came across any of that information
No real medical organization recommends circumcision. It's actually been found completely unnecessary. It doesn't help prevent infections, because the foreskin in fused to the penis until around the age of 10 when it starts naturally pulling away. It's very easy to clean, you only clean what is seen until it starts to naturally retract, even then it's only soap and water. You can do what you want, but I would really like if you looked into some credible sources. So many doctors and nurses have come forward and admitted to lying about the benefits of the surgery. There really are no benefits. The foreskin is actually a vital piece of the penis. So many babies die every year from circumcision. And some boys have had to have gender reassignment surgery cause something went wrong and they lost their whole penis. Please just do some serious research. I personally and not going to risk my son's life doing something that isn't medically necessary, and had been proven that it doesn't help anything.
I really think he just needs to get over it seriously. I mean it really isn't fool proof but from my experience I would much rather get it done now than have him be an adult & have to get it done can you imagine how much that would hurt?! my sons dad has actually argued with me to get it done he says he wishes that his mom would've done it for him, even tho he NEVER had any type of infections of any sort or any other complications he just thinks it would be a lot better for him. after everything I've been thru with my 3 year old & now my 6 year old maybe having to get it done I might as well get it done now rather than later. & another thing yes there will be bacteria but itll be sooo much easier than having to make him have surgery in the long run. I'm sure if he got circumcised & he got an infection he would get antibiotics & bam that's that. now if he wasn't to get circumcised then after so many infections he'd have to be circumcised anyway, he needs to stop making you feel guilty about trying to make the right decision for your child. just because he didn't have any complications doesn't mean that your baby will be the same way.
exactly and after I explained my reasons I want to get it done which is for hygiene reasons and less chances of infections he said what-if he still get infection. I'm just like Idk. he makes me feel guilty for my decision. he said either way there's still bacteria and possible infection. I'm not saying getting circumcised is full proof but I think it lessens the chances of infections @january10th no matter what I say it's a BIG FAT NO for him
Well here's another thing he needs to stop worrying about what his child is going to ask about it. what his response should be if the child asks is we did it because it was better for you point blank. my sons father isn't circumcised either but he is all for it. & if it ever came down to my son asking he's not gonna blame me for it. if he's concerned that his pee pee isn't gonna look the same as his sons he really needs to get over it at the end of the day its a lot better hygiene wise & just so nothing comes up in the future where he's an adult & has to get circumcised. so now if you weren't to get him circumcised what would he say to him if he had to have surgery to get it done later on? its my fault because I was being selfish & think about our pee pees looking alike?
I think I saw you talk about this on someone post before and I started looking more into it and it made me lean more toward circumcision I don't want anything to happen when he is older and have to get it done anyway because it hurts more when their older. I was willing to not get it done for my boyfriend because he isn't and he sees no point in it and like @delilahsmommy2015 said if he sees dad is different it might cause issues. my boyfriend asked me what he supposed to say when he ask "daddy why yours look different " and my bf said "mommy wanted to cut it off" this is my first real decision as a mom and were can't compromise at all on this subject. he thinks I don't care about he feels and that his input doesn't matter but if it didn't I wouldn't be having a hard time making this choice. ugh idk
Here's my story so as you know this is my 3rd child. well I have 2 boys already who were not circumcised when they were born my 6 year old was fine has had ZERO problems till now -_- he might have to get it done. now my 3 year old has had multiple infections & doctor saw it fit for him to get circumcised so he got it done right before his birthday in June. well at the time I thought I was doing it for them so they didn't have to go thru pain i thought I was doing good, when in the end it ended up being worse so this time just to be safe im going to go ahead & get it done its going to hurt me to see my son have to go thru that so young but it has to be done to avoid anything coming up later I'd rather get it done now than him be 3 or 6 & have to get it done.
My son was circumcised and my second boy will be too. I know you're worried about your baby being in pain but it's better to do it when their young and won't remember. My son fell asleep right after and didn't cry about it afterwards. It heels quick and all you have to do is keep it clean. I personally think it's a good idea and doctors recommend it.
I do also agree with keeping it like dad, my boyfriend is so my son will be as well.
I'm leaning towards getting our son circumcised. Dad is so I think it would be better in the long run. Yes, it is painful for a while, and they'll be a little fussy until everything heals, but I'd rather him go through it then than later on. Also, hygienically, it's beneficial. I've had a partner before that wasn't circumcised, and it's very difficult if PH gets off...passing yeast infection back and forth is no fun at all. :-( I wouldn't know how to tell him to clean himself if he's not and it's likely dad wouldn't either, so we will be having little guy circumcised.
I agree with@delilahsmommy2015 because ultimately dad is gonna be the one potty training him and he will notice that he is different, as far as hygiene and medical reasons lots of things can happen if it's not properly cleaned, but that's dads job too so I wouldn't sweat it, cause if your boo takes care of his im sure he will teach the baby the same way
I was leaning towards not getting him circumcised because of the pain but his dad is circumcised so I wanted him to be the same...also my son didn't seem to be in too much pain I didn't see him for two hours after the procedure but when he came in he was sleeping peacefully, it's not like he was in excruciating pain for days ya know? it was just temporary you'll always feel bad when your baby has to go through pain, shots, circumcision, the blood tests they do at the hospital...either way I don't see anything wrong with either, I know uncircumcised penis' s are making a comeback now that the truth has kinda come out that its unnecessary.
my boyfriend isnt circumcised but if we have a boy he wants him to be but i dont i explained to him what we will need to do after it is done and i will be the only one doing it and i dont wanna.see my baby in pain so we came to the conclusion that we will not be doing it he will help when the.baby gets older to keep.it clean and everything
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
School fees
Having an intense debate on Facebook about school fees for public school. I'm in the "stop whining about school fees and stop having kids if you can't afford them" camp and there is the other camp of "free school is a constitutional right! It's bull s*** we have to pay anything at all".
❤️Getting to know you❤️
Since our May group is growing strong and we have a lot of new mommies joining and sharing their bfp's...Thought it will be fun to get to know each other as we all share our pregnancy journey!
*I'm just looking for others perspectives*
I want to have my son circumcised, my husband who is uncircumcised does not want our son to get the procedure. I don't know much about the difference because I'm a woman, we don't have a religious preference to do it, just I'm just curious about what others plan on doing for their son!
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer.
My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk out...
no it's Ok I don't want to watch videos on it. I think you hard given me enough info. I mean if there is no real benefit then what's the point. Idk I'm confused Idk what to believe. the articles you sent me was the complete opposite from what I read on my own. this is the hardest decision I've had to make but Thank you for your help. @lizzilarson
