So I took my daughter to the urgent Care cuz she had a fever last night and then again this morning no other symptoms really a little cough and she has the flu. And I have something too but they tested me and I don't have flu we don't have covid she doesn't have strep. They gave us that medication for the flu how do you guys feel about taking and giving children tamiflu? I've heard mixed reviews and I'm a little cautious. She's in decent sorts just laying down, giving her Tylenol and Motrin switching back and forth with that. Doctor said I didn't have to give it to her if I didn't want to
It's such a new thing to me this is the first time we've ever been given it for the flu so I had to do some research about it and some of the side effects from it scared me. None of us have ever taken it before
@ladyfreyja, my husband has taken it with no issues, but the side effects in children are scary
I have given it to K. Taste aside, I’m glad we did it because he hangs onto viruses forever. He started it on a Tuesday and by Sunday he was back to normal.
I would give it to my kids if it shortens and helps symptoms we couldn’t get it in time last time she had the flu and honestly it sucked she was sick for a week with a high fever
I wouldn’t hesitate to give my child tamiflu. It can help shorten the illness and make it less severe.
I took it a few months ago when I had the flu & I felt 50% better within 24 hours. I had been miserable before.
I think tamiflu really depends on the child. Wasn’t recommended for T because even though he’s asthmatic, the GI side effects would hurt more than help. So we did precautionary nebulization and he was fine in 2 days
