Monsters 💀
Today was one of the most scariest stressful day of my life.

My nephew was found unconscious on the floor in the bathroom. He was rushed to the hospital. This hospital I used to work at so I got the call by my former colleague. When I got there he was still in and out of consciousness. I was trying to get more information and get a clear understanding on what had happened.

Apparently, my nephew took a lace gummy because a classmate gave it to him and moments later was vomiting and passed out. I told my sister to request a drug test. Which we were told they can’t without consent from my nephew….. I went off because that’s not even a thing for a freaking 14/15 yrs old. I had to explain to the girl that I worked as a nurse in the same hospital and never heard this before. Crazy just crazy.. and then she came back in when I finally got the test put in for him, just to say thaat they don’t drug test… another lie. I asked for a different nurse because who have time to waste when a child is in the hospital with God knows what in his system.

Then another nurse came and was like I want to gave him Zofran. I was like no… he need to try to wake up and not sleep. This guy going say oh drowsiness is not the side effect…. WTF YES IT IS. So I had to tell this guy to not give Zofran and give him IV to help keep him hydrated and to try and flashed the system.

Nephew was out from 11:45 am to about 6 pm and he still wasn’t awake. The doctors was shaking him trying to get him up. So, i the used my father remedy, iced water to the face and it worked. He popped up and re went to pee in the cup.

Test results is that he ate a gummy that was lace with weed and fint he also smoked some weed today.

He’s home safe ate and was drinking everything.

Please convey to your kids do not take candy from their peers. Shhh is getting real in these schools.

I’m so sorry that happened and the hospital was being shitty. It shouldn’t have to be like that. He’s lucky to have you and I hope he learns a lesson from this.

He's so lucky you were there. We drill it into our kids heads in my family not to take anything we haven't bought, how drugs look like candy. My daughter knows how small a lethal dose of fentanyl is and she was shocked. It's a scary, scary world we live in. Obituaries are either old people or really young people.

@icebergahead THIS.there is a huge trend with teens and not being too "vanilla" about sex and letting their partners choke them during sex, which there is NO clinical way to do that "safely" and kids, especially girls, are suffering brain damage injuries. We think our kids don't know things, but the shit they encounter on the unlimited internet connections they carry in their pockets and from shows? We need to be realistic and be talking to them.

@mazzarella, oh wow. The school should have been involved for sure. That is awful. We had a bus turn around and brought back to the school just because a student threw baby powder on the bus here. They take everything serious. And I am okay if kids get home a tad late as long as investigations happen in any incident. Especially drug use. I am so sorry you are having to speak out on a serious incident.

@jenx, I have had strange talks with my kiddo. Trust me they know more than you think. You just have to be open and talk safety and make sure they are not looking elsewhere to be educated on that topic, especially from the wrong people.

I was happy it was a place where I worked. The Er was my home for awhile I knew about every person there. As a nurse and a mother I couldn’t imagine tell parents they have no control over getting their child all the help and resources available.

He woke up in the hospital and couldn’t understand where he was at. I think it didn’t really hit him until we were in the car
