What’s the point if a Real ID if you can’t travel internationally with it? Why are regular state licenses/ ID no longer acceptable for domestic flights. I’m trying to google it but I need someone to dumb it down for me.
The real ID is an American thing, so it won't be recognized internationally, at least not now, as with anything else, things can change. They just want all the states to be on the same page ID wise. If you will have a driver's license, then you will have a real ID . The real ID will be integrated into all driver's licenses.
A passport is currently the only globally recognized document for traveling. But if you are traveling internationally, from what I understand, you can use your passport in place of a "real ID"
