Что не так с моими родственниками?

So, not to long ago my 87 years old grandma fall down the stairs and was hospitalized. She have dementia but keep coming to philly to see her BF. My uncles are the ones who drive her here which she stay for a few days with her BF. I dont like it because they be leaving her and this is the reason she fall in the first place. She was left to be with her BF and try to walk up the stairs without help.

Idk why they think this is ok. So, when she get hurt I am the one who have to do everything because im the closest.

Well it be ok to slap them all....for science ofc

Your grandmother has a lot going on. A full life at 87. A long-distance bf in a wheelchair, dementia, a living room for personal space, in a cramped apartment... other than the dementia, she's living a 20 year old's life, lol. Why does bf have stairs if he's in a wheelchair? I think it would be better if she gets to the other level the way he does. Or if he doesn't use the upper level, her son can put up a gate so she doesn't use the stairs. She's fine when she's with your uncle? I can't imagine that a caregiver will be necessary. She seems to be getting on fine by herself there.

Oh girl my grandma is a young jawn lol...baddie at it finest 🤣
Idk why her BF have stairs. Imma go over there this weekend to see how the setup works. Getting a gate sounds like a good plan tho, thank you that suggestion. She is fine with my uncle, it just when he leaves her alone. So, I was thinking a caregiver for those time he isn't with her. But she probably rebel that anyways. I just want her to be safe.
That fall she had was bad but thank God it wasn't worse than it was. She went those stairs backwards from the top of the stairs case and then hit the wall.

I am sorry, it sounds like maybe they are alittle in denial that she can be doing the same things she use to without help.

Probably, she sometimes thinks she more than capable.

I suggested that she get a home aid so she have care and they won't feel like they need a break from her all the time

@ahhhh-real-monster, I think that’s a good suggestion, caregiver burnout happens more often then not.

Sounds like someone needs to be watching a little better and you already have your hands full

My uncle and his wife never calls me or visit but every time something happens with my grandma...their mother I have to be the one to deal with everything. Once the task is completed I won't call or anything

@ahhhh-real-monster, sounds about like me with my grandma. I’m doing everything while my mother does nothing and my uncle is 2 hours away so he never comes to help or anything.

@supermomof4 almost similar. My grandma is my mother's mom. My mom isn't really involved.

My uncle thinks it would be better for my grandma to live with me. But I can't take on that responsibility. I don't know...my husband said he would help but he doesn't be here all the time as he is a trucker. So it would all be on me

Would the option of her bf traveling be easier?

He's in a wheelchair. It would be better if he goes go see her. I think my uncle and his wife don't want him there because they live in a small apartment and my grandma sleeps in the living room.

@icebergahead, very they should have her FaceTime him until something else comes about. I can't keep dealing with her and the hospital for days or weeks at a time and then drive her 2-3 hours to drop her off.
