I hired a private swim instructor confirmed multiple times (back in April,again in May, ) that the start date would be June 24th. The young lady pops up last week with "oh wait I can either come at 7:30 or we can start July 11th instead." Umm wtf.😒... she knows she's teaching 3 toddlers so obviously 7:30 at night will not work. I guess we have to start July 11.
So off to FB I go to find someone as a backup. Found a college student that was certified said she could start today at 6pm. Cool. I give her all the details. I sent a message yesterday to confirm because I don't want my cousin who is bringing her kids to drive back from Maryland unless she has to. Freaking silence 🤐
Tried messaging her on fb messenger and texting her several hours apart. Nothing! I've been ghosted.
Kids just don't want to work these days. Smdh.

This sounds extremely frustrating! We’ve been hiring some younger paraprofessionals lately and the work ethic is just not there. They use up all of their leave and then they want to go on vacation. When I don’t approve their time off and tell them they have no more leave they just want to take time off anyway and go without pay. Yeah, no. That’s not how that works. You can’t just say meh I’m not gonna come in and don’t worry about paying me. You use up all your leave then you’re SOL if you want to take time off and still keep your job. 🤷🏼♀️ They act as if that’s THE most ridiculous policy ever. I don’t get it. And I’m very generous about approving things to get people time off and work around HR policies but damn, leave without pay isn’t an option bc you wanna go to California to celebrate your bff’s dog’s birthday.
