Any advice on how to get a kid to be able to swallow giant antibiotic pills? My husband did not get the liquid and now I am at a loss on how to get these pills in my kid. He struggled to swallow a half pill, and is currently trying to eat them crushed up into applesauce, but is threatening to puke. 🤮

He's doing his best, but it's not working. Maybe he can wait to start the antibiotics, see if the doctor can write a new prescription for the syrup
Will be calling doctor tomorrow to see if we can get a new prescription for the liquid or chewable. I even struggle with the giant antibiotic pills as a grown adult!

@scruffy.nerf.herder theres a chewable amoxacillin and a chewable augmentin (that one may be a little harder to find)
Is it okay to crush the tabs? Some meds are slow release.
These are twice a day antibiotics so I don’t know. And I can’t message his doctor because once he turned 12, they take parents off the account and he has to set up his new one. So will be calling tomorrow 😑
Oh, shit. Are they really enormous? They probably taste awful split up. Can you call the doctor and explain and get a new script tomorrow? I don't have any secret techniques knowing how huge those pills can be and they stick on the way down.
@scruffy.nerf.herder I am sure you have googled everything, like swallowing with food like pudding. I know those horse pills too.
I'd say use a pill cutter but if the pills are too big that might not work. Also I used to coat my cat's pills in butter, that would make it go down easier. I don't know if you can do that for humans or not lol
