Питoцин при стимуляции родов: почему одним сразу, а другим нет? Нормально ли это вообще?

Question. When I was induced with my first two they gave me pitocin immediately. My cousin was to be induced today at 7am and they told her she can’t have pitocin until she’s 2cm, and they keep giving her the pills to soften her cervix. Is that normal?

Idk how normal it is, but they gave me one of those pills before starting pitocin. I dont remember if it did anything or not.

I had to have a medically necessary induction with my first daughter and they gave me pitocin right away. With my second daughter it was an elected induction and they gave me the pill. It didn’t work so great for me though and after 2 doses they ended up giving pitocin.

It depends. My doctor told me the success of an induction is dependent on your cervix - dilation, softness, etc. Her cervix may not have been in an ideal condition for pitocin right away.

I wonder if it’s different in every state 🤔 cause I was induced with my first two and with my second I was only 34weeks when I was admitted and 36 weeks when I had her and I wasn’t dilated at all prior to the pitocin

@lottyyydottyyy, Was her induction elective or medically necessary?

My doctor said he would induce my labor at 38 weeks, if my baby girl still had growth issues and if the percentile dropped to 10 or less. Last thursday, it was 10 percentile, and he said if she didn't come on her own by 38 weeks, he would induce labor at that time. I'm 36 weeks 1 day today, he said my cervix was super thin, and 1cm dilated. Is there a possibility this can change... that my doctor will let her just come on her own? I don't want to be induced, i would much rather her come on her own when she is ready to come ! As much as I am anxious to meet her and have her home with me, those last few weeks of brain development and lung maturation means so much more to me! I'm hoping and praying that things turn around, and I don't have to get induced. I'm surely going to talk to my doctor about it Thursday when I go back.

So, I'm 16 weeks pregnant with our 4th daughter we planned on naming Ava Rene. Unfortunately I found out yesterday during an ultrasound that her skull did not develop. I'm being induced Friday to deliver her, but instead of pitocin they are giving me something to go on my cervix to help soften and dilate. My question is has any mamas on her dealt with this issue or were you induced by medicine on the cervix and not pitocin?
