Опека над ребёнком

Tonight I was given temporary custody of my sisters little sister. Her dad was charged with domestic violence against her and was arrested. Tonight was really heartbreaking because at first he told cps to put her in foster care and that he didn’t want her to go to any of us. She was walking over to the cps workers car and I asked the police could I talk to him so they rolled the car window down and let me. After I begged him and broke down crying he finally agreed to let me have her. He signed the papers and CPS came over to approve of my place. I had to sign papers too. I feel so sad for her because he told her that she was never allowed back in his house and made her give him her house key. He’s mad that she told us about the abuse. He literally punched her in her face tonight and her face is swollen and has marks all on it. This has been going on for a while. He’s an alcoholic and beats on her. She asked me tonight was this all her fault because she told us and I told her no, she’s a child and doesn’t deserve anyone to abuse her and that she did the right thing. Any time someone does something they shouldn’t do to you, you tell us so we can protect you. The cps lady said we will have court within the next 30 days and it will take a while for their investigation and she told me if I wanted to apply for full custody I should do that now. I asked my sister what she wants to do, since that’s her sister she can apply but I will if she thinks it’s best I do it. We already are the ones who provide for her. She gets food, clothes, basic needs from us. When it’s issues at school my sister and I handle them. I go to parent student stuff with her. I have to go to her school tomorrow to bring my papers from cps to make sure he doesn’t try to have contact with her or get her from school when he gets out of jail if they let him bond out. I need to figure out getting her her own bed and stuff. Right now she’s in my bed for the night. I just kept telling him thank you for signing the papers because even the cps worker said once she’s in foster care it’s hard to get her back. I hate how selfish people can be.
