@boymomx4, @whereswaldo, glad it slipped you guys! About 3 years ago a tornado touched down a half mile from us and a year before that I drove through straight line winds that turned into an F0 with my son in the car with me. Needless to say I have a strong fear of tornados! I have an emergency bag packed and at the top of the basement stairs ready for us. The wind is picking up pretty strong but so far radar is showing the storms breaking up or heading around me.
@humblewarriormama, I hate storms so I hear you. I’m glad you’re still doing ok. We are in the clear. But I definitely had a few heart attacks for a while.
I’m in east central IL and we just came out of our bathroom a few minutes ago. 😥 We were in a tornado warning.
We are all prepped to run. I’m worried about the winds blowing my old windows out. I’m hoping the wind comes from the side since we have no windows there. I’m glad you’re safe. We’ve had a tornado warning a little bit ago but nothing came of it by me but the storm hasn’t hit us yet
I'm north of Illinois. I toke my girls to the basement when tornado alarms went off, and it got windy. I could hear it whistling. Stay safe. My family is in Chicago, and their getting notifications already of bad wind.
90mph winds. They are saying treat like a tornado. Get inside. Seek shelter. Get out of cars, mobile homes etc. stay safe
@whereswaldo that's what they told me. Waiting for it to pass to see how it went.🙏 so far here, some people are without power. Very calm now.
They are saying treat it like a tornado due to 90mph winds. One lady said her curtains blew in the wind with the windows closed and locked. I HATE storms. It’s probably 20 minutes from me.

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Family/friends in Aurora, Oswego and Yorkville - they’re getting hit hard with storms but no tornado warning for them yet. I’ve got about an hour before any storm system hits us and I’m hoping for the best.
