Is this the reason eggs are so high? I've heard a few different reasons and idk if it's just 1 reason or if all these reasons are why eggs are so high! Lol

No, this is a natural occurrence. It happens every year.

I really don’t know why they are so high. I read it was because of avian flu but when it was happening last year I was trying to keep up with it and it didn’t seem to spread very far and was contained quickly so I don’t think that’s a valid reason. But when it gets cold egg laying slows way down or stops for awhile, it’s totally normal.

Yep! My dad talked about this too and I had to shut him up about it. It literally happens every winter! Any seasoned chicken owner knows this!!! It has NOTHING to do with the government.

yep! I got 4 eggs this week, cause it was in the 50s majority of the week. But were back to snow so I probably wont get anymore for a while again. 🤷🏻♀️ its normal and has nothing to do with why egg prices raised in the stores.

I believe they have culled approximately 57 million birds in the US due to bird flu. There was also high demand for eggs in December due to the holidays. Low supply=higher prices. Economics 101

@justgotaname, yes and the cold slows production as well. Either way I don’t think the government is intentionally doing something to the food to stop egg production. I told my dad he’s too old for tik tok and stay away from it

it makes me sad to think about killing all of those birds but I also know that it’s highly contagious and that’s one way to try and stop the spread. 😔
