Когда учитель говорит о поведении ребёнка?

PSA: When your child’s teacher contacts you about their behavior, that is not a personal attack on your child or on your parenting.

I often see people get super defensive, then start blaming the teacher and sometimes even start calling them names (I’ve seen it on here). They are a partner in your child’s education and speaking to you about your child’s behavior IS THEIR JOB. Kids behave differently at school — it’s a different setting with far different expectations.

And notice how I said partner. That means that educating your child and working with them on school behaviors isn’t only their job. You play a part, too.

That is all.

I actually appreciate when teachers reach out to me about my child's behavior. I want my child to have the best experience possible, and get the most out of their time at school, any way that I can help with that I'm happy for the chance to be included.

You couldn’t have said this better. I have to meet with my sons team and the principal the day we get back from fall break because of the way his behavior has been this year. I could never imagine calling my sons teacher any names or anybody that takes care of my son when he is in there care for 7 hours a day. That’s absurd!

@ekko, um they are literally hiring anyone here to be subs as long as they can pass a bg check and drug test. Someone with zero experience or training.

@momgroupreject, Same here. Scary, huh? Now imagine that person is your child’s teacher and in charge of them learning how to read.

@ekko, it’s terrifying. I recently had a conference with W’s teacher and she explained how absurd it has been this year. One sub went completely off the lesson plan and a lot of the kids got upset.

I agree! My son’s teacher said he was having behavior problems and I popped up at the school to see what he was doing. We should be making things easier not harder.

This! We need to be working as a team. The teacher and the parents have the same goal in mind for the kid - to have them be successful!

Liam’s kindergarten teacher really laid out the guidelines to help prepare our children for school so I wholeheartedly agree with you

Same here. And no wavering on her expectations. She told us that at orientation. She has stuck to it too.

Would you send your child to school with pink eye?

My daughter recently had this and she wasn't allowed back in school until 24 hours after starting
