My son has been having trouble holding a pencil the right way so we’ve been doing a couple techniques to build his strength, he knows how to spell but just struggles with the actual writing part but we’ve been practicing…with a light guidance he’s been writing out his name & I wanted to share his progress cause I’m so proud of him 😊

If it would be safe at your house, Lite Brite is a great thing for tripod grasp strengthening because there is no other practical way to hold the pegs than tripod grasp. That's really excellent! <3

Amazon has been running deals on them too, you should be able to pick one up for less than $15 and probably closer to $10. <3

These pencil grips were a HUGE help with my two older boys when they started writing. They struggled with the same thing. My oldest doesn’t use them anymore but my 4 yr old still loves them to help with finger placement.
And they can go on pencils, pens, markers, crayons, anything. They’re great!

I hope they help. We tried a few different grips & these definitely came out on top.
The texture is kind of soft, squishy though, just in case your son has any sensory sensitivities to that feel.
