Можно ли совмещать уход за тремя детьми и учёбу на RN онлайн?
Is it possible to go to school online to be a RN (besides clinicals) and be a mama to 3 kids under 3?
I really want to but I can’t just enroll and not know what to expect. Like I need a timeframe of how much I’m supposed to study each day. I’m on adhd meds now so I know I can depending on the circumstances.
Any advice???
My mom was single mom and got her RN with excelsior. She was already an LPN and I’m not sure of the exact details yet. I know she woke up early every morning to study though. I’m in school to be an LPN and I go in person in the evenings so my husband is home with the kids and I will say it’s a TON of work and studying. I study for at least 2-3 hours a day. Sometimes I just pick my books up whenever the kids are just playing in their room.
You can take all your prerequisites online but i don’t suggest doing more then 6-7 hours weekly withing a 8 week time frame also anatomy and physiology needs it’s own 8 week block and honestly I would take that in person because it’s hard to do online. But yes the first year and a half is doable or you can stretch it out also you aren’t automatically in the nursing program you’ll apply with pre nursing finish your prerequisites and then take the TEAS exam and depending on that will possibly accepted into the nursing program then it’s 4 clinicals a week for a year
Then that’s adding on top of what I already have to do but I’d hope it’s worth it in the end since I’m not planning on staying with my husband bc I get like no help from him with the house and half ass help with the kids
@sammyy, yeah there’s a program here that will pay for daycare if you’re a full time student see if you state has something similar I worked full time on the weekends during nursing school with 5 kiddos it’s doable jst make sure you keep with good grades and never take on more then you can get done in a week hour wise for class. Group together easier pre reqs and take harder classes alone. Good luck 👍🏼
@sammyy, also most places and states are in a nursing shortage so finding a job shouldn’t be a problem out of school. If you have to stretch a two year degree into four just do it, because you have nothing but time lovely 😊 you’ll do great !
What experience do you have? I advertise for a variety of online degrees, there are a lot of nursing programs online but there’s always a clinical component as well for in-person. Your local community college is probably the best resource for an RN type program and flexibility in scheduling. Especially if you don’t have any nursing experience to begin with.
You can't become a RN without enrolling on campus. My sister just got her associates in nursing and it was a full-time job for the last 2 years. She didn't work at all. She was easily studying 6-12 hrs a day plus clinicals. It was pretty difficult and she was a single mom of a preteen. And the previous poster is correct you can't just enroll. You have to have the correct prerequisites and a minimum gpa to get into a program.
