Not usually one to air my dirty laundry on here, but I needed a rant, our poor baby girl has spent the last three days in the hospital again being tube fed and in absolute agony with a very bad infection, all due to the poor quality of care received from her surgeons.
The amount of times they have ignored her after being told something is wrong makes me feel sick, twice they were told that Isla had an infection and twice they refused to keep her on antibiotics, even after opening up her nappy on Monday to find it full of blood, they still did not want to know
All this has now led to her being back in hospital because the infection in her wound has spread quite badly and she's in agony, because of this she can't tolerate her milk and now is being tube fed.
The hospital were in now are truly amazing, they were constantly calling her surgeons saying she needs to be seen but the surgeons refused repeatedly, so the doctors here have said they can't send her away in the state that she's in even though they're not supposed to have surgical patients under the age of five.
I am pleased to say that she is now getting the help and treatment she needed a long time ago with no thanks to Birmingham children's
The fact they are meant to be a specialist hospital leaves me wondering how they think it's acceptable to leave a four month old not feeding properly and in so much pain.
This is awful. I hope you are both OK x
