Good morning ladies, we just got a kitten on Saturday, he’s 6 wks old, last night I saw what I think is a flea on him, I know he’s too young to use any medicine on him so I was wondering if any of you know about any home remedies or something safe for me to use on him. I would really appreciate the help since this is my first time owning a cat.

We always take are pets into the vet within the first few days of bringing them home they have always helped us. Our youngest was 8 weeks but he had a flea bath before and they had already started the deworming on him and fixed him.
@sherrynygirl, kittens can have baths before 8 weeks especially when there’s a flea infestation.
they can’t regulate their own body temps yet but it can and should be done. Honestly shouldn’t have been taken from their mom. If it’s the case of an orphan kitten then it’s best to get medical advice and maybe have them perform the bathing to ensure it’s done safely but fleas = worms and can lead to anemia. Dawn dish soap is the safest thing to use. But I can’t stress enough to take it to the vet lol
You could try to dampen the kittens fur and use a flea comb. Just make sure to really dry it off and wrap it up to keep it warm.
What I have done is set up a bowl of dawn dish soap and dip the flea comb into it then comb it through the fur.
Definitely get him to the vet ASAP. He’s far too young to be away from his mom and more than likely has worms.

He definitely needs to be seen by a vet asap. He’s about 2 weeks too small to be away from mom at this point. He needs to be dewormed and checked out. I’m an RVT and things can go south very quickly with such young animals.
Give it a warm bath with dawn dish soap get a head lice comb and comb it through its hair. Make sure you get all the folds under the arms and neck and private area that’s where fleas hide the most also to keep it warm you can throw a towel in the dryer and have it warm so when the kitten gets done with a bath you can wrap him in a towel to keep him from being cold. That’s what I did when i found a stray kitten and the next day we took the cat to be dewormed
Also I would go to the store and the have kitten milk and bottles he’s to you to be weaned right now
Probably not a bad idea. But I got my orange fluffball when he was around the same age (roughly 5-6 weeks old - he was abandoned), and he did fine without milk that young. He tried to nurse on a stuffed sloth all the time, though, poor baby. He did fine with just kitten food, though.
I would just take little baby to the vet as soon as you can. You dont want to mess with fleas. I’ve seen too many episodes of Monsters Inside Me and I’m terrified of getting the bubonic plague from them. 🙈
