Bonus kid is texting me from school. He’s really missing his dad today and it’s got him upset and his stomach hurts. I totally understand because of how everything has played out for this poor kid. I’ve told him I’m always here to talk to him about it and it’s good to talk about it. But other than that I’m at a loss. I just feel so bad for him, and I miss my cousin like crazy even though he drove me nuts when he was alive. I worry about if I’m doing the right things, would he be proud of his son and how I’m handling it. So many what ifs.

Poor thing! 😭 I’m sure his dad would just be so grateful that you’ve taken him in. That you’re being there for him. That you’re giving him the love & stability he was needing.
You are doing wonderful, given the circumstance.

It’s stressful because I don’t know if I’m doing enough. But I’m doing all I can. I have no experience losing a parent. We just talk about his feelings and we talk about his dad and laugh and cry. He won’t go back to the therapist.

sounds like you’re doing all he’s needing then!! Don’t doubt yourself. I can’t imagine the stress you’re feeling but just know, from an outsiders perspective, you’re doing the best job you can. And it’s really admirable. I’d say the thing he needs most is just love & you’re giving him that tenfold!! ❤️❤️❤️

Have you guys done something in his dad's memory? Do something his dad did, go to his favorite spot, wear his favorite color, lol, anything at all. Release lanterns on the water... He seems to just want some closure
