How to cope with anosmia and ageusia?

Not being able to smell or taste for 8 months is getting really really depressing. It’s almost impossible to eat because of anything has any type of flavor to it then to me it tastes like burning plastic. Same with smells. Anything strong enough just smells like burning plastic to the point I will gag and get so upset to my stomach. I have no idea how I’m not losing weight. I’ve tried almost everything I have looked up on google. My grandmother sent me a news story about a woman going in for a trial over the same issue. She had to be hooked up to an IV in her neck for an hour! I don’t do needles so I can’t even think about doing this. It did work for the woman but she has to go back in 3 months and see if it still works. I miss the smells of my kids and my husband so badly. I miss the taste of food. I try to imagine in my head what something tastes like. I am just so over it.
