What to do with rash?
What have you guys done to get rid of bad rashes? My youngest has had a bad rash for about two weeks now. I’ve changed his soap, diaper, diaper cream, bought 1% cortisone cream that his doctor recommended and nothing. I have some left over breast milk that I forgot I saved and I’m gonna add that to his bath but idk what the hell is causing it.

Depending on the type of rash, if it’s a yeast rash it may require lotrimin.

This and let him air dry. Or brown some flour on the stove and use it like baby powder. Sounds weird but it works lol

Aquaphor. And don’t use baby wipes, just a damp cloth or your peri bottle then blot away the excess moisture, don’t rub. Also lots of diaper free time. Might get mess so put him on him tummy on top of a diaper but let his booty air out. I seriously swear by aquaphor.

That’s the thing, I should’ve been more specific. It’s not on his butt, the rash is on the genital area. I’m gonna let him go diaper free for a bit now though.

def call his dr! It could be a yeast. But you can still just use water to clean him instead of a wipe. Don’t rub the area just blot. Poor dude :(

I called earlier today and he can only be seen on Wednesday but I googled yeast infection and I honestly think that’s it because he has a small rash under his neck as well. I’m running to Walgreens now to get him something. Thank you!

If it’s a yeast rash, you’ll need an anti-fungal. My oldest would get thrush a lot and it presented on his butt. Otherwise for a diaper rash, look for something with a high concentrate of zinc-oxide. This is my preferred kind, it usually helps in 24-48 hours.

Maybe it’s a yeast rash … see if a jock itch cream will help or call your pedi and see if they can give you some nystatin cream. Also try the red tube of Boudreauxs paste!

could be a lot of different things, I'd keep it as dry as possible, only use aquaphor. If it's just gotten worse tho, I'd call cause you might have to use monistat or something else to help clear it.
