Should parents bring supplies to open house?
We’re meeting my oldest teacher this week , he starts kindergarten next Monday 🥲 Do parents bring the teacher /class room supplies to the open house , instead of making my son bring it on the first day of school ? I just figured it would be easier so he doesn’t have to carry everything himself. Like the Kleenex , dry erase markers, sanitizer etc .

I’ve honestly never even thought to do that. That’s a good idea! I’d maybe see if you could contact the teacher somehow & just ask if that would be okay. But I don’t see why not, that’s smart lol.

I didn’t know if that’s something parents did so I figured I ask haha but yeah he can barely carry his backpack with all his supplies and a lunchbox 😂 so definitely wouldn’t be able to carry another bag .

@nellyrojas1994, yesss they’re so little still & their backpacks are already half the size of their bodies & they want them carrying half of Walmart on their back lol. Definitely a great idea!

I saw on my son’s school website they have a meet and greet the day before on the 16th at. 1-3 to meet the teacher and bring the school supplies “and school begins the 17th here . He’ll be in Kindergarten too

We start the 15th , on our school site it just list the “meet the teacher “ event . But doesn’t say anything about brining anything . I don’t see why not if we’re going to be in his class lol

At our school, they encourage parents to bring the supplies to the meet the teacher events. I forgot to bring them last year and it was too much for K to bring all in one go once school started. Was much easier this year with the supplies ready for meet the teacher night

Perfect ! I’m going to bring them to the event . Just seems a lot easier for everyone that way lol

I always brought Jerri's on open house that way she doesn't have to try and carry all of it in and tote it around

Definitely being the supplies to the event. It will be much easier on him on the first day of school and much easier on the teacher. It’s pure chaos trying to sort and store supplies with a bunch of kids around.

Yes.
Thats one of the reasons for open house. It helps have everyone organized and ready for the first day of school. 🙂
