Mom of boys, how do you explain Erections to your child !? My 5 year old and 3 year old is having them. So far ive explained its normal and happens to all boys at any given time. And when asked why, i don't have an answer. When i ask their dad to talk with them he just goes "its normal" "youre fine" but they're not satisfied with that answer. Because you know kids need details to understand. I dont really want to talk about it's "getting ready for when you have sex" as the internet has said to do. Just curious as to how i can explain it in a way they understand and not ask me as much because dad is no help at all

If you want to avoid the sexual component of erections, you could explain the technical side in that they happen when their penis fills up with blood, which makes them stand up. They can happen for no reason, kind of like an itch that just appears. Idk if that will help, thankfully neither of mine have asked the why yet.
