Hi ladies.
Advice needed π©π© my daughters father was always inconsistent, ive cut contact now over 3 months ago hes not reached out or tried, i gave him alot of chances so ive had to protect her now!! Shes started to mention him whilst playing (playing with toys ect..) we drove past his old road yesterday (hes not lived there for a year) but somehow she recognised the road an shouted for him. I acknowledge it and then swiftly change subjects. I never randomly talk about him, as shes getting older shes obviously watching and hearing "daddy" at nursery/tv/general
Just need some advice really on how to cope with it when the day comes when she starts asking? I have lots of photos on my phone and in albums of him and her which she likes to look at so she will always know hes her dad? Like should i stop? Any advice would be appreciated, never been in this situation obviously so trying my best xx

No thank you I need to see someone elses perspective. It's so difficult! My recent ex she would copy his kids calling him dad, he was good with her and said it made him feel sick that she doesnt have him and she knows no different and for that is which I dont hate him as an ex! But yeah it's hard I drew some stick people the other day and said ohhh its daddy!!! I feel terrible but at the same time he was never there even when we were together! It's a difficult bridge to cross and it does make me sad and anxious xx
Makes me so sad to read this, how anyone can turn their back on a child is beyond me. If it was me id always show her the photos because shes going to know she has a dad somewhere especially the older she gets, but if she asks why hes not here id say he lives far away or something along those lines. I havent been in this situation before though so mine may not be the best advise, its just what i think i would do xx
