What do y’all think of menstrual cups?
Give me the the pros and cons…. I’m tired of pads and tampons. I saw a set on Amazon that had a sterilizer steamer lol thought that was nice. But is that ideal? I have so many questions. Is there an applicator to put it in? lol
I've been using for prob 3 years and would never ever go back to anything else. They make it seem more complicated than it is with their directions. I empty mine in the shower I find that's the easiest especially when the sink isn't close to the toilet and I like to rinse it. Steamer?? Lol not sure about that part. They do have a new one that has an applicator to make it easier. I think you should give it a try. I've had no issues no matter what the flow is
I totally ordered one. I’ll do what you do and empty in the shower. Seems like the less messy way lol I got the one with the steamer 🤭 so I don’t have to boil it.
I've literally had TWO super light cycles since getting pregnant with Lynnie. That was RIGHT before I got pregnant with Will. Then never had a cycle before I got pregnant with Journie. I'm dreading my first PP period because after a tubal I hear they are worse. Mine have always been light and short but I did have cramping, mild usually. Let me know if you get the cup and let me know what you think. I'm thinking about the thinx undies too.
I ordered some cups. I’ll let you know for sure! They will be here tomorrow
I loooove it & would never go back. I have the Luna cup and the June cup. I like the June better bc it is easier to get out, although I still use my Luna and it’s no problem. It’s not hard to get in & out, you just have to figure out a way that works for you. Honestly, it has been a game changer for me. I like that I can put it in before I go to work and I don’t need to worry about it until I get home in evening. I’ve never once leaked or had any issues, even on my heavy flow days. If I’m going to have my period while on a trip, it’s so convenient to pack the cup instead of 35 tampons. I just throw it in my travel bag even when I’m not supposed to get my period.. just in case. I also like that I don’t have to worry/think about buying menstrual products anymore.
@ksmommyx3, you really don’t lose that much during a cycle. I swear our products dramatize what we actually lose 😅 I read 3 to 4 tablespoons a cycle. So over a 5-7 day period
@rayofmysunshine tablespoonsssss , no way lol
HATED IT!
I thought I wouldn’t mind it being messy since I’m home all the time but I do 🙄
It feels awkward AF in and I couldn’t understand how to take the damn thing out cause I’m stupid 🤣 it was difficult and it hurt probably because I didn’t do it right. They say you have to get used it but never again for me.
I really used to love my cup the only thing is is I’m the kind of person that even with a tampon every time I use the restroom I change my tampon so I always feel like I have to empty out my cup. It can definitely get really messy like when I’m at work I have to go to a specific restroom because I know that there’s a sink right next to me. Also in the last five years I’ve only had maybe one years worth of a period so I’m sure things have changed since then.
I’m afraid of getting it stuck I’m tempted to do the thinx underwear 🩲
That’s a rational fear! So tired of period products for sure. Period panties seem pretty comfortable too
I have never used it before so I have nothing to say about them. I do not get much of a flow either. More like spotting.
@rayofmysunshine, Everything else that comes with the dreaded cycle but no flows. I do not miss the bloody messes.
@icebergahead, I hate the mess. 😖 at least you don’t have to deal with that part.
I liked it when I had heavier periods. Now I'm back to light periods, I can't stand it. It's uncomfortable when you have such light periods imo.
It's easy to use once you finally get the hang of it
Ahhh good to know. But I’m sure it’s better than a dry tampon lol
@rayofmysunshine
Of for sure lol. Even the light tampons hurt me occasionally. Like I've always had light periods so when they got heavy I was like wtf is this shit. And my "heavy" is what everyone else considers normal. Just not normal for me
I have used the cup and I like it con it can be messy with removal pro saves money vs tampon and pads and don't have to change it as much but it depends on how light or heavy your period are. I has super heavy periods before my procedure so the cup was hard to use but I'm excited to try it now that im healed and I'm periods are more normal
Thank you! I hope it is better for you now!
Tampons usually give me major cramps and pads are just so gross. If I don’t go with the cup I’m going to consider those period panties. Mine are very normal to low flow, sometimes I feel like I’m wasting products because it’s never what i expect.
Periods SUCK lol
@rayofmysunshine I think you could try it get the smallest cup but yes you may like there period panties more
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!

Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
