Anyones husband a truck driver on here? Is it worth it? I’m stressing out because my husband has been really thinking about joining a company, he’s been doing a lot of research lately. I’m stressed more so of the fact that I’ll basically be a single parent while he’s on the road.. we don’t get any type of help from either side of our families so I know it’s going to be hard. 😒
I’m watching the documentary on the Laci Peterson murder and I really think her husband is innocent... so sad he’s in jail & on death row at that .

We’ve been nursing for 15 months, and he is showing no sign of weaning. His latch sucks right now because he’s teething, so I’m not sure how much longer I’m willing to go 😞
What do you keep your thermostat on? It’s summer I get that but it’s been mild with all this rain so I’ve had it at 74. My husband doesn’t agree with me. So I’m curious what is normal I guess.

It depends what type of driving and company tbh. I know people who are home everyday , every other day.. gone a week, home a weekend … all depends girl

few of the companies he’s looking at want him out for a few weeks & then he’ll be back home for 2/3 days & then back on the road. I wish it was local but the companies hiring around here want him to already have his CDL 😒

There are local and over the road drivers, some are gone for days and others are only gone during the day.

Does he have his CDL? Sysco is a good company to drive for locally. If he has his CDL he can look in to cement trucks, towing and crane operation to stay local. But OTR is hard. If he does do OTR find a company that will do a $10k sign on bonus. Experienced drivers are getting $15-$20k sign on bonuses.

There are truck driving companies that let you come home every night! My uncle did it for like 40 years. He was always home. Nights and weekends.

My grandfather was. He was gone a lot and my grandmother was a SAHM with their kids and watched my sister cousin and I when we were young.

My husband is! There are jobs that stay local he can be home every night. My husband is home every night by 6-7 & has weekends off buttttt my husband co-owns the company so he makes his own schedule. I believe it’ll be easier to get his CDL thru a company because they are requiring they goto school now & most companies will pay for it.

Also we are from CO & my husband used to come to TX for 3 weeks & be home for 1 week so I understand how your feeling!!

My dad did long haul for years. My mom liked her space but it sucked as a kid.

idk if it helps but i used to serve at a truck stop.
I never heard one person ever say they loved their job.
I always heard about how much they miss their families.
but reading these comments: it looks like they are way more flexible nowadays
