Окулярная мигрень: кто сталкивался с таким? Советы и хитрости для облегчения состояния при приступе, особенно без головной боли
Anyone deal with ocular migraines? This is all new to me and I gotta say it's not pleasant so could use all your tips and tricks you do when a migraine is triggered.
I went to the ER Saturday with speech impairment and right arm numbness. Who knew a migraine could cause that?! And without ever getting a headache.
Went to a neurologist yesterday. Because husband and I are trying for a second baby I'm limited on meds I can take for now.

I do not have ocular but clusters for most of my adult life which were constant and caused a lot of issues with work and home life. I take a preventative and it was a long hard few years of figuring out what did not work.
Neuro is a start so that they may figure things out with you. Log your headaches (length/duration) and foods you’ve eaten prior to an onset. Things like logging rest time as well.
I see a headache specialist now and they have helped tremendously.

Yes and I get “blindspots”. The only thing I do is put ice pack on eyes. Mine do not happen as often now but was really bad 10 years ago, I took meds everyday to avoid them but I also had clusters. Do you have visual issue before or during?

@iuiblessing2018, I never had that with speech or numbness but I’ve always told my husband I am worried it’s a stroke coming just from it hurting so bad in eyes and can’t see when I get them. I’m sure that was so scary for you!

@iuiblessing2018, MIL has these similar symptoms and she is currently using botox.

that's interesting wouldn't of thought of that.
@massmomma16, it was so scary! Especially when the headache never happened. A stroke should be a stroke. A headache just a headache. I don't need these mind games every time I get a migraine.

Not ocular migraines but my oldest gets really bad migraines. Medicine doesn't help him, he just throws it up. The only thing that helps him is PastTense tension blend. My sil recommend it. It works amazing for him.

Just looked it up.
Is it like a balm you put on your temples? I've used something like that but peppermint before that helped at least a regular headache

It's an oil. I put it on his temples, behind his ears, and the back of his neck. Since we've been using it he rarely ever throws up anymore from his migraines.
